PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Locals in the know have enjoyed Cayuga Park's unique landscape, location, and character for decades. As part of the 2008 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond, the San Francisco community voted to allocate over $7 million to the revamp of this Outer Mission gem. A 4-acre park located in the Outer Mission Neighborhood of San Francisco. The Park is surrounded by housing and borders the I-280 freeway and is located beneath an elevated BART trackway. A new 3700 square foot replacement Clubhouse was built and Tennis and Basketball Courts were relocated to improve the layout within the Park; part of an adjoining street was added. Upgrades included: a new school-age playground, multi-use turf area, irrigation and lighting systems, benches, and walkways and trails. The Park is home to over a hundred wood carvings and sculptures that are on display throughout the Park. Some artwork received a new foundation and support.
