PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Runway 28L Reconstruction: The project reconstructs the Runway 28L between Taxiways E and L structural pavement and associated drainage, lighting, striping, and grooving. Reconstruction is a complete restoration of an original functionality that results in a virtually new piece of pavement. The work scope involved the demolition of the existing pavement structure down to subgrade and rebuilding the pavement from the ground up using current design criteria and material standards. This project was completed one week earlier than planned in 2019.
The Taxiway B5 Rehabilitation: rehabilitated Taxiway B5, a connector taxiway between Taxiway A and B. Taxiway B, between Taxiways B3 and B5, also rehabilitated. Rehabilitation Work includes a specific area of deep pavement repair, mill and overlay, replacement of in-pavement lights, and updates to signage and surface markings. The total area of Work is three acres. The project was completed in time and on budget.
Runway 10L-28R Rehabilitation: work will rehabilitate the Airport’s longest runway and intersect taxiways within the Runway Safety Area of Runway 10L-28R to address existing non-standard geometry. Work includes realignment of west-end taxiways to improve safety and address existing non-standard geometry. Work includes pavement reconstruction, airfield lighting, signage, pavement markings, and utility improvements. The project is under construction will complete in May 2022.
Taxiways D and T Reconstruction: the project scope include reconstruction of Taxiways D and T to realign the geometry to improve safety and reduce the risk factors associated with runway incursions as identified in the FAA RIM (Runway Incursion Mitigation) Program. The project includes paving, drainage, lighting, markings, and signage improvements. This Project is under design and will complete in 2023.
Taxiways A and B Rehabilitation: Work will rehabilitate three locations on Taxiways A and B. Work includes storm drain, mill and overlay, pavement reconstruction, airfield lighting, signage, pavement markings, and associated utility improvements. This Project is under design and will construct in 2023.
