Position Overview
Dabri is seeking a qualified Construction Safety Manager (Safety Analyst) to support Hetch Hetchy Water and Power operations in Moccasin, CA. This role is responsible for evaluating and improving workplace safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across field and office environments.
The Construction Safety Manager will conduct field assessments, analyze safety data, investigate incidents, and collaborate with staff to implement effective safety solutions. This position requires both technical expertise and strong communication skills to engage diverse teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate existing safety policies, procedures, and operational practices to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
- Research and interpret applicable safety regulations and industry standards; recommend compliance strategies
- Conduct field inspections, observe work practices, and identify potential hazards
- Interview employees and supervisors regarding equipment use, exposures, and jobsite conditions
- Develop and recommend corrective actions and control measures to mitigate risks
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence
- Prepare clear, concise reports and documentation
- Review workers’ compensation data and safety metrics to identify trends and reduce costs
- Audit safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and best management practices
- Identify training needs and develop targeted safety training programs
- Deliver safety training and develop/update safety tailgate materials
- Participate in regulatory inspections and compliance activities
- Review facility designs, construction plans, and equipment selections for safety compliance
- Collaborate with management and staff to implement safety improvements
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Experience:
- Minimum ten (10) years of professional occupational safety experience, including:
- Implementing safety programs
- Conducting worksite inspections
- Delivering safety training
(Note: Weapons, ordnance, and systems safety experience does not qualify)
License:
- Valid California Driver’s License
Substitutions
- A Master’s degree in Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, Safety Management, or a related field may substitute for two (2) years of experience
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification may substitute for required experience
Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in field environments
- Experience supporting public agency or infrastructure projects is a plus
